Copeland Franco and Ashley Penhale receive multiple pro bono awards
The Alabama State Bar's motto is "Lawyers Render Service". The firm's involvement in pro bono work has, and will continue to be, a very important part of our commitment to the State of Alabama and to our local communities.
The Montgomery County Bar Foundation recently held its first annual awards luncheon to recognize both individuals and firms who have participated in the Montgomery County Volunteer Laywer Program. Copeland Franco was named a Silver Medallion firm in the large firm category.
Ashley Penhale is a great example and representative of both the state bar's motto and the firm's commitment to pro bono work. Ashley was recently recognized for all of her hard work and her willingness to give back to those who need it the most. We congratulate Ashley on these well-derved honors.
First, she was recognized by the Alabama Access to Justice Commission as a 2016 Pro Bono Exemplar. Ashley was one of only 95 attorneys in the State of Alabama recognized for this honor.
Ashley also received the 2016 Thomas J. Methvin Volunteer Lawyer of the Year Award from the Montgomery County Bar Association. The person who nominated Ashley stated that she "personifies the spirit of volunteerism that defines our VLP, giving freely of her time, her expertise and her compassion."
