Richard Gill receives William D. Scruggs, Jr. Service to the Bar Award

Richard Gill receives the William D. Scruggs, Jr., Service to the Bar Award at the 2015 Alabama State Bar Annual Meeting. This award was created in 2002 in honor of the late Bill Scruggs, former state bar president to recognize outstanding and dedicated service to the Alabama State Bar.

Richard is the senior partner of the firm and is active in a broad range of civil matters. He is a fellow of both The American College of Trial Lawyers and The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, and is one of only two or three attorneys in the United States to have that dual distinction. Richard has served as Senior Associate Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives on the Impeachment of President Richard Nixon, as vice chair of the committee which wrote Alabama's Appellate Rules (and is author of the Official Commentary to such rules), as a disciplinary judge for the Alabama State Bar for many years and as a member of the Eleventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Disciplinary Committee.
